Effective January 1, 2020, the Human Trafficking Awareness Bill (SB 970) requires hotel and motel industry employers to offer at least 20 minutes of human trafficking awareness training to employees who are most likely to come into contact with victims. Current law states that businesses with more than 50 employees must provide two hours of training to supervisors/managers every two years, or within 6 months of an employee’s supervisory promotion.
