On January 1, 2019, AB 2334 will go into effect. This new law covers employer reporting requirements for occupational injuries and illness. Current law states that the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (better known as Cal/OSHA) must issue citations for business record keeping violations within six months after the occurrence. New additions to the law, beginning Jan. 1, state that the “occurrence” continues until (a) it is corrected, (b) Cal/OSHA discovers the violation, or (c) the duty to comply with the requirement is no longer applicable.
